Project Overview

This small-scale architectural intervention serves as a multifunctional patio pavilion nestled in the landscape of Comarnic. Designed as a transitional space between built form and nature, the structure provides an open, yet sheltered environment for outdoor dining, relaxation, and social gatherings.

The architecture draws inspiration from vernacular timber framing, expressed through visible wooden beams set against light-colored infill panels. The steep pitched roof, with generous overhangs, responds to local climatic conditions while enhancing the sense of shelter and intimacy within the open volume.

The pavilion features floor-to-ceiling sliding glass panels, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior while allowing year-round engagement with the natural surroundings. A minimalist outdoor kitchen and fireplace are integrated into the corner, allowing for functional flexibility without compromising the open-air feeling. The design emphasizes simplicity, simple materials, and strong visual connections to the landscape, achieving a balance between modern form and traditional aesthetics. The use of untreated wood, textured concrete, and modular furniture reinforces the project’s commitment to sustainability and contextual sensitivity.
